Actors & Writers is a 26-member ensemble of theatre and film professionals who live in the Hudson Valley. We provide our rural community with high-quality live theatre, presented free of charge. Since 1990, we have produced more than 100 staged readings, including new works commissioned by the company. We have also produced eleven festivals of short plays, two live-radio format variety shows, three cabaret evenings, an on-site production in a cave, a touring Equity production, writing contests and workshops for teenagers, and numerous benefits for area charities. Many of our premieres have gone on to full productions, publication and awards in other venues.
